If you received an email to view files/messages protected by Virtru, this means the sender has elected to use Virtru to encrypt the content. In this article, we'll show you how to quickly access your secure content.
Verification
Before you can view any files/messages, you will need to verify your identity and log into the Secure Share portal with your email address.
Click the linked attachment in the email you received
A new browser tab will open. Enter your email address (where the secure file link was sent).
Choose the "Send Verification Email" option
You will receive an email from verify@virtru.com. You can click the Verify me button complete the process, or enter the provided code on the login screen.
Upon successful verification, you will land on a "Message Summary" page.
Viewing Secure Content
Once you are verified, you can see what files were shared with you and any applicable additional messaging from the sender.
You will be able to:
- View files shared with you.
Note: Some file types cannot be previewed and must be downloaded and viewed locally.
- Download files shared with you.
Note: If a file has Watermarking applied to it, downloading will be disabled.

File Size Limit
The file size limit is 15 GB per file based on buffering limitations of your device. This is a per file limit - you can share multiple files with combined totals exceeding 15 GB.
Verification
Before you can view any files/messages, you will need to verify your identity and log into the Secure Share portal with your email address.
Click the link in the email you received
A new browser tab will open. Enter your email address (where the secure file link was sent).
Choose the "Send Verification Email" option
You will receive an email from verify@virtru.com. You can click the Verify me button complete the process, or enter the provided code on the login screen.
Upon successful verification, you will land on the Secure Share Request page.
Sharing Files
1. Upload Files. On this step, you may drag-and-drop files or use the ADD FILES dropdown to select files from "My Computer" or "Google Drive" (for applicable users).
If you uploaded the wrong file, you can Remove attachment or REMOVE ALL FILES
Once you are done adding your files, click Next. If you don't need to add files and only need to send a secure message, you can also click Next to continue.
2. Secure. On this step, you have the option to apply "Expiration Date," "Watermarking," and/or "Persistent File Protection" security settings. When ready, click NEXT.
3. Share. On this step, you can enter a message for your recipient. You can encrypt the message by checking the "Encrypt Message" box.
Before sharing, you may use the PREVIOUS button to review your selections. When ready, SHARE. You will then be directed to a confirmation page.
