This guide explains how to configure a new company announcement, detailing the available options. Employees see announcements as pop-ups or in a dashboard widget.
Configuring Announcements
In Our Company > Announcements (Configuration) click
a. Headline- This is for subject of the announcement, and will display at the top of it.
b. Body- For the body of the announcement. This can support text, as well as images or links, charts, etc.
c. Template- If checked, the information entered will be saved as a template for future reuse.
d. Active- Checked by default. Controls whether or not the announcement shows to employees. When dates are entered the announcement will automatically stop/ start based on the dates. When no date is entered, announcement will default to a start date of the day it's created, and an end date of 2079.
e. Countdown- Creates a countdown timer for the announcement.
f. Add Announcements Listing As- Select how announcement will appear to users. Select Information, Warning, Or Error to add the corresponding symbol to the announcement.
g. Show As Pop Up On Login- If checked, the announcement will pop up when the employee logs in as well as in the Announcements widget. If unchecked, announcements will only show in Announcements widget on the employee dashboard.
h. Show Author Name- Displays author's name on announcement. Uncheck to remove author's name.
i. Show Marketplace Link- When checked, the View Marketplace link will be available in the announcement. When the link is selected, the Marketplace link will kick off. Classic UI only.
j. Visible To- Fields can be used to drill down which categories of employees the announcement will show for. When all options are blank, the announcement will show for everyone.
k. Related Documents- Up to three optional documents can be added to announcement. Documents must be added in Company Documents (Upload) to be available.
Click to create announcement.
After the announcement is Saved, the option to add an Image will appear. Can be used for company logo or another related image.
Employee View
Pop Up:
Employees can select 'Don't Show Me This Message Again' and it will not pop up again.
If there are multiple announcements, the and
buttons can be used to toggle between.
Announcements Widget:
This widget is available for the Employee dashboard. Announcements will remain until either they expire or are manually made inactive.
