Job Board Widget in Job Requisitions
- Go to Team > Recruitment > Job Requisitions.
-
Post on Job Boards: Allows you to manually post a Job Requisition to Indeed. This is only necessary if you have manually unposted a job and then need to repost it again.
- When a new or existing job requisition is created or edited and then saved, and it has all of Indeed’s required settings, the success message will indicate it was sent to the queue (shown below).
- If this message is not displayed, the job did not get sent to the Indeed queue and instead you will see a "Saved" message only (shown below).
- If you then manually use the Post On Job Boards button to post the job to Indeed, you will receive an error message stating what is wrong with the job requisition. i.e., a job that is not visible indicates the visibility dates are expired. Fix the error(s), save, and the job will post automatically.
-
Unpost From Job Boards: Allows you to remove a Job Requisition from Indeed and the career portal so it can be edited or closed.
- Select the "Unpost From Job Boards" button.
- Check the Indeed checkbox and click "Unpost".
- Enter your password on the "Unpost Job Acknowledgement" pop-up.
-
Select "Yes".
- The job will be unposted from Indeed and the status will be updated from the Job Boards status page upon clicking the View Status On Job Boards button.
- When a Job Requisition has been posted and then unposted from Indeed, doing so will cause the job to not be visible on the main applicant portal. This can also happen by disabling the visibility setting on the configuration page.
- If the job is subsequently re-posted to Indeed, or the job is made active again by clicking the visible button, the job will be visible and available on both Indeed and the applicant portal. Once enabled, you cannot have a job on the portal but not on Indeed.
-
View Status on Job Boards: Allows you to monitor when Job Requisitions were posted to Indeed and if they were unposted and/or posted again.
Available Job Board Integrations
Indeed: A free integration that, once enabled, will send all job requisitions that meet the criteria to Indeed automatically.
eQuest: a Marketplace product and a cloud-based service. Our system integrates with three separate eQuest products: eQuest Blast, eQuest Premium, and eQuest Xpress. All of these are free via Inova but may have outside fees.
- eQuest Blast - Sites publish BLAST! jobs at their discretion and eQuest does not guarantee that all jobs submitted will be published at each location in the network. eQuest Blast is free, however, there is no way to control where the job is posted.
- eQuest Premium - The eQuest Premium Job Board Service allows jobs to be posted to various job boards selected by the company. eQuest Premium can be used alongside eQuest Blast but cannot be used alongside eQuest Express. eQuest Premium is free via Inova, but fees will be incurred based on the job board selected.
- eQuest Xpress - eQuest Xpress offers the same advantages of eQuest Premium but allows you to sponsor jobs on a selected group of job boards at pre-negotiated discounted prices with no pre-existing contracts with the job board. eQuest Xpress is designed for customers who need occasional access to major job boards to fill critical roles, and who want to take advantage of group pricing, without having to pay for membership to those job boards. eQuest Express can be used alongside eQuest Blast but cannot be used alongside eQuest Premium. eQuest Express is free via Inova, but fees will be incurred based on the job board selected.
Indeed
Note: Before enabling, please note that completing the following steps for the Indeed Job Board will automatically post existing job requisitions that fulfill the Indeed criteria to the Indeed job site. See details below.
- Go to Settings > HR Setup > Applicant Tracking/Recruitment > Configuration.
- Select the Job Boards tab.
- In the Indeed section, check the Active checkbox.
- Enter the Company Email address associated with the company's Indeed account.
-
Check the Opt In checkbox.
- The Opt In checkbox will opt in your company to having your job requisitions automatically delivered to Indeed and the jobs posted on Indeed will include Indeed Apply.
- When Indeed Apply appears below the job description of your job on Indeed, job seekers can easily use their Indeed resume to complete your application from any device, including mobile devices. Indeed Apply also supports screening questions ensuring the application from Indeed has the information required to make the best hiring decisions.
- Change the Company EIN if needed.
- Update the Company Name on Indeed field if needed (optional).
-
Save.
- A "Terms and Conditions" window will pop up for you to electronically sign.
- Initial opt-in for Indeed integration can take up to 10 business days to complete.
Note: After saving, all the existing job requisitions that fulfill the Indeed criteria will be automatically posted to the Indeed job site. A success message will indicate the number of job requisitions sent over. A hyperlink for inactive jobs will be shown in the success message, and when clicked, will navigate you to the report page of Inactive jobs. From there, you can make adjustments to the jobs so they can be sent over to Indeed.
Opting Out of Indeed Apply
- Go to Settings > HR Setup > Applicant Tracking/Recruitment > Configuration.
- Select the Job Boards tab.
-
In the Indeed section, uncheck the Opt In box.
- When unchecking Opt In, the "Terms and Conditions" pop-up will display again requiring your e-signature. If you opt-out of the Indeed Apply integration, external jobs created or updated are automatically sent to Indeed using an electronic feed and visible in Indeed's free search results, but they do not include Indeed Apply, and job seekers will be redirected to your career portal to apply. Once this is signed, the system considers the company as opted out with Indeed.
Job Requisition Requirements for Indeed Integrations
Indeed requires certain fields to be in the job requisitions before they can be successfully added to their portal.
Required fields:
- Job Title
- Description
-
Contact Information
- Name
Upon saving a job requisition, our system will prompt you with error messages if there are invalid fields. Once you correct the information and save, the job requisition will automatically be added to our dedicated XML queue and it will be added to Indeed, usually within 24-48 hours.
eQuest Blast
Enabling eQuest Blast Network
- Go to Settings > Solutions Exchange > Solutions Exchange.
-
On the "Your Products" tab, locate the eQuest Blast Network tile and select it.
- A document is available for download as a PDF. This document is a one-page document giving an overview of the application and lists the eQuest website, where you can go to get more information.
Enabling eQuest Blast in Job Requisitions
- Go to Team > Recruitment > Job Requisitions.
- Select the intended job requisition.
- Locate and select the Blast Network checkbox.
- Ensure the job requisition is filled out as completely as possible and all required fields are included; otherwise, you will receive an error message when saving. Required fields are Job Location, Job Title, and Job Description.
Note: Unchecking the eQuest checkbox on a requisition will remove the Job Requisition from eQuest, and in turn, eQuest will remove the job from the job boards. The posting will also be removed if the requisition is no longer active, has been closed and filled, or the Type is changed to Internal only. The timeframe for posting/unposting on job boards will vary based on each particular job board that is used.

- Create job board options and configure inventory allotments. Note that options may vary based on job boards.

Troubleshooting
Issue: When trying to post a job requisition externally, it gives an error stating "Job Requisition XX Cannot Be Posted to Job Board: Address is Required.
Solution: The client has the Indeed integration turned on, and the job requisition is using a cost center with the option "Use Employee Home Address As Work Address For Taxes" enabled in the Address. Use Employee Home Address As Work Address For Taxes" causes the cost center address not to populate and therefore prevents the job requisition from listing a location.
- Change the cost center on the job requisition, or uncheck the "Use Employee Home Address As Work Address For Taxes" on the cost center.
- If the position being requisitioned is being offered with remote work options, set your Job requisition to allow remote work by checking the 'This job is remote' checkbox under Job Location. Remote jobs will be reflected on the Careers Portal and Show Job Page and will integrate with Indeed, UKG Screen by HireRight, and eQuest for a seamless experience.
Issue: Enabled Indeed Job Posting and Job Requisitions removed from Career Search
Solution: Any Job that does not meet the Indeed Requirements will, by default, be made Inactive in UKG Ready. The Career Search and Indeed will now be working together. If the req does not meet Indeed's standards, it will not post to Career Search either.
- When you turn on the Indeed Job Posting, you will receive a message at the top to tell you how many "X Jobs have been sent to the Indeed feed successfully". The message will also tell you "X job requisitions have been made inactive." You can click on the blue hyperlink for the jobs that were made Inactive, and it will bring you to a report to show you the jobs with the errors.
- You can EITHER select all of the jobs on the report, click "Job Board" on the top right, select Indeed, enter your Password, and an error message will show for all the jobs and what needs to be fixed to post. OR You can also just click into one of the Job Req's on the report, activate the job (check off Status & Visibility), and press save. It will tell you what needs to be fixed to post.
